The functional breathing practice is a 45-minute, hands-on session designed to optimize breathing efficiency, enhance mental clarity, and boost athletic performance. This session is suitable for everyone—from those looking to reduce stress and improve focus to athletes aiming to increase endurance, strength, and recovery.
What is a functional breathing practice?
Components of the session
This flexible session can be conducted both indoors and outdoors, depending on the preferred training environment. Participants will engage in various breathing exercises performed in different positions—sitting, standing, lying down, and during physical activities such as running or other exercises. Some exercises are enhanced with the use of headphones to create a deeper experience and maximize the training effect. The session also includes the Simulation of High-Altitude Training, which mimics the benefits of altitude training to improve both aerobic and anaerobic capacity.
What are the benefits?
- Enhanced Breathing Efficiency: Improves blood circulation, oxygen delivery, and overall respiratory function.
- Stress Reduction and Mental Clarity: Balances the nervous system, promoting calmness, focus, and better sleep quality.
- Athletic Performance: Increases VO2 max, running economy, and the ability to sustain high-intensity efforts, crucial for both individual and team sports.
- Physical Resilience: Strengthens respiratory muscles, improves posture and spinal stability, and reduces the risk of injury.
- Adaptability: Helps maintain fitness levels during periods of rest or injury through targeted breathing techniques.
